The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition introduces dual second-generation AMD 3D V-Cache technology to AMD’s 16-core desktop platform. Cache is provided across both core chiplets, giving the processor 192MB of L3 cache and 208MB of total cache.
The expanded cache capacity helps keep frequently accessed information closer to the processor cores, reducing reliance on slower system memory during cache-sensitive workloads.

AM5 platform and PCIe 5.0
The processor uses AMD’s AM5 socket and supports A620, B650, B650E, X670, X670E, B840, B850, X870 and X870E chipsets.

It provides 28 native PCIe 5.0 lanes, of which 24 are usable, supporting modern graphics cards, high-speed NVMe storage and expansion devices. Motherboard BIOS compatibility should be confirmed before installation, particularly for boards manufactured before the processor’s launch.
DDR5 memory support
The processor supports dual-channel DDR5 UDIMM memory with a maximum supported capacity of 256GB.

Cooling requirements
The processor has a default thermal design power of 200W and a maximum operating temperature of 95°C.
A thermal solution is not included. AMD recommends a liquid cooler for optimal performance. StellDex recommends using a high-capacity 360mm liquid cooling system or another cooling solution explicitly rated for sustained 200W-class AM5 processors.
